Lulu and the Brontosaurus by Judith Viorst illus by Lane Smith
several short chapters tell the story of Lulu who wants a dinosaur for a pet and leaves home to find one. Funny twists and a coming to her senses with several optional endings makes this pretty entertaining. Lane Smith's quirky drawings match the story perfectly. I'd like to hear it read aloud but it wouldn't be an easy read. 2nd+ Excellent.

Fox Forever by Mary E Pearson
finale to the Adoration of Jenna Fox series. a bit slow starting for me but very satisfying ending. Locke Jenkins has a Favor to do, but finds it has pulled him in to a national conflict involving the Secretaries beautiful(of course) daughter and a persevering Resistance. This gets better and better. YA for violence and kissy face. Excellent.

Hold Fast By Blue Balliett
Dash and Summer, Early and Jubilation, have a tight family that circles around words and the love of books. Dash works in the Harold Washington Public Library until one night when he disappears. The family finds themselves homeless and trying to solve a mystery when no one seems to care. This is a great mystery, a voyage into poetry and words, and most importantly a view into what being homeless is like. I liked this one. 4th+ excellent.

The Notorious Benedict Arnold by Steve Sheinkin
"A True Story of Adventure, Heroism and Treachery.:" This was a terrific read and covered most of the American Revolution. Such a vivid description of the man and his life, along with many others that were part of his sphere of influence. Excellent. 5th+

Fearless: a Mirrorworld Novel by Cornelia Funke
This took a bit of getting into since I couldn't remember much of Reckless. I wish I could have read them closer together. And there is obviously a third book coming. Here, Jacob Reckless must find a way to overcome a fairy's death curse. In a race with another treasure hunter (Nerron, a Goyl) Jacob has one hope left. Lots of intrigue and scary situations. Great plot twists. The world is amazingly fresh considering the basis is old fairy tales. I enjoyed this once I got into the story. 5th+ Excellent.
